I have written countless articles about solo travel for women and why every woman should venture alone. But I am often asked “” Where is it safe for women to travel alone? Where should I go on a solo trip?”

Although some destinations are safer than others, the world is not as scary as some might think. With a positive attitude and general street intelligence, there are many solo trips around the world where you can feel confident yourself.

In my opinion, these are the best destinations for solo travelers!

Note: please note that “safe” is a relative term and you always have to show your best judgment on a solo trip. These recommendations are based on my own experiences and my sense of security when traveling alone at each destination.

Even if Iceland’s nickname “Land of Fire and Ice” sounds intimidating, solo travel here is convenient and easy. Reykjavik is famous for its music scene and nightlife, so you will have no problems meeting locals and other travelers.

There are countless reasons to visit Iceland, but it is its natural beauty that steals the spotlight. Join an excursion, snorkel, dive into the silfra rift or even hike on a glacier in Iceland! And don’t miss a swim in the beautiful sapphire Lagoon!
